چکیده

Chemiluminescence, Dioxetanes, Reaction Kinetics, Spectra, Biradicals The thermal decomposition of 1,2-diadamantyldioxetane was studied by kinetic and spectroscopic methods. Spectra of the chemiluminescence emitted during the thermally induced decomposition of 1,2-diadamantyldioxetane, tetramethyldioxetane and trimethyldioxetane were obtained and the influence of quenchers and radical-scavengers, and the presence of "heavy atoms" in the surrounding of the emitting species was investigated. The kinetics of the decay mechanism was followed by measuring the time dependence of the chemiluminescence. The influence of radical-scavengers, quenchers and "external heavy atoms" on the kinetics was assessed. Experimental results were discussed in terms of a biradical decay mechanism.

Opening a Gateway for Chemiluminescence Cell Imaging: Distinctive Methodology for Design of Bright Chemiluminescent Dioxetane Probes

Chemiluminescence probes are considered to be among the most sensitive diagnostic tools that provide high signal-to-noise ratio for various applications such as DNA detection and immunoassays. We have developed a new molecular methodology to design and foresee light-emission properties of turn-ON chemiluminescence dioxetane probes suitable for use under physiological conditions. The methodology...

Theoretical study of the dark photochemistry of 1,3-butadiene via the chemiexcitation of Dewar dioxetane.

Excited-state chemistry is usually ascribed to photo-induced processes, such as fluorescence, phosphorescence, and photochemistry, or to bio- and chemiluminescence, in which light emission originates from a chemical reaction. A third class of excited-state chemistry is, however, possible. It corresponds to the photochemical phenomena produced by chemienergizing certain chemical groups without l...

Mechanically induced chemiluminescence from polymers incorporating a 1,2-dioxetane unit in the main chain.

Nature uses mechanochemical transduction processes to achieve diverse and vital functions, such as hearing, cellular adhesion and gating of ion channels. One fascinating example of biological mechanotransduction is the emission of light on mechanical stimulation. However, molecular-level transduction of force into luminescence in a synthetic system remains a challenge. Here, we show that bis(ad...

Substituent effects on the decomposition of chemiluminescent tricyclic aromatic dioxetanes.

Three tricyclic 1,2-dioxetane derivatives, 1a, 2a and 3a were synthesized from their corresponding 1,4-dioxin acenaphthylene compounds, 1, 2 and 3, by reaction with singlet-oxygen ((1) O2 ) in dichloromethane. Evidence for the formation of the dioxetanes 1a, 2a and 3a is provided by the chemiluminescence (CL) that corresponds to the emission from the electronically excited diesters 1b*, 2b* and...

Chemiluminescence: sensitive detection technology for reporter gene assays.

A series of enzyme-activated chemiluminescence-based assays of reporter gene expression, useful in many biomedical applications, has been developed. The chemiluminescence detection systems for beta-galactosidase, beta-glucuronidase (GUS), and secreted placental alkaline phosphatase (SEAP) reporter enzymes are all based on use of 1,2-dioxetane substrates. This detection technology also permits t...
